Fjord IT’s CEO,
Helge Gallefoss attended the Carbon War Room summit in Berlin last week. Carbon War Room mission is to harness the power of entrepreneurs to unlock market-driven solutions to climate change. This fits very well with Fjord IT’s mission to deliver green data power to Europe’s growing market for computational power and data centers.
“Our goal is to provide a source of inspiration for entrepreneurs and capital sources that aren’t aware of the opportunities in clean technology.” says Peter Boyd, COO of Carbon War Room.
In Berlin, Helge was participating in the Industrial Energy Efficiency TRIAD-team, discussing and creating a solution to the issue that industrial energy efficiency technologies exist but lack demand – people are in a hurry, they don’t care, they are confused, and they can’t afford the retrofits.
The solutions proposed from this team was “The Carbon Rating Agency” – Apply efficiency grades to all companies in the supply chain. Appoint “Chief Energy Efficiency Offisers”. Create a transparent forum for sharing best practices. Make efficiency key to staying competetive and relevant.
The solutions provided by this great crowd of sustainability-minded people, were inspired by the idea to bring ecological production more into the mind of the customer. A high level of transparency will drive change in the decisions of managers, will spur innovation and bring capital to projects where carbon can be reduced.
Over the next twelve months, both the Carbon War Room and the TRIAD teams will be working on the ground in Germany to develop further the solutions from the different working tracks – and hopefully bring them to implementation stage.
We look forward to the results!
